The Czech Republic is set to modernise its gambling regulation and open its gambling market to EU and EEA residents, by adopting the new Act No. 186/2016 Coll., on Gambling.

It represents a major step towards regulated online gambling becoming a stable and strong tax revenue stream for the Czech Republic.

But how does skin betting – the latest craze in the online gaming community by which cosmetic in-game “skins” are used as virtual currency to bet on the outcome of matches – tie in with the new legislation?
